So I finally came up with the semi-right words to describe my thoughts behind this picture...

It's really a spiritual thing to me.


The wings:
they are supposed to represent how he might have started life "pure"/innocent. They are broken to represent the expiriences and sins in life that steal our innocents... (They are also a play on how God created man a little lower than the angels....)

The blood/wounds:
The sins that he has commited that cripple him, that separate him from God. Like sin, not all of the wounds may seem very severe, but they add up until death is right before you.

He's sun glasses:
The are like the denial that people have. They keep him from seeing or acknowledging his sin. He sits unaware and unconcerned that he is bleeding to death He is seemingly blind to his injuries, to the fact he is dying in sin.

The single tear represents:
His misery. The small piece of him, the concsience that tells him something is wrong. That gives him a hint of the truth. That feeling of emptyness, that hole that can only be filled by God.

Lastly the halo
represents his feeble defence. It is what he holds up in front of himself to God, and says, I am a good person. I'm nice, I'm kind, I'm polite, that's enough. but it's not... you can see how much good it has done him...


In the end God is the only one who can save him, who can open his eyes to the truth, and bring him to salvation.


ATTENTION!!!
This is not just about this one person, it applies to all of the unsaved, and even to some who are. Those who are saved yet living in sin and unrepentant... they may not be destin for hell anylonger, but they are spiritually imoble, stagnant...
